New Beginnings in 2021 and I’m Hopeful

The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Abraham Lincoln

In my younger years, in my early thirties, someone had yelled at me for living under a rock. True story.

Back then, I didn’t pay any attention to the news and any of the goings-on in the world. I took that life lesson to heart and opened myself to my surroundings. The good and bad, the ups and downs – I looked and became aware. And was the better for it.

Looking back now, I wonder if it was the reason for starting this blog in 2010. Don’t really remember anymore, but I do know that I’m incredibly thankful for whatever compelled me to do it.

Because aside from stories of my little family, it’s also my version of a mile marker on our lives as we continue down the road of life.

If nothing else, a reminder for me that yes, we were here. Yes, we lived through it.

It used to be a newspaper. Remember those? That was the evidence I’d get and collect to say, hey, we were here! Now it’s this blog. And it’ll continue to be.

With pictures of my TV screen.

Mile Marker of a New Beginning

New VP Kamala Harris – Inauguration of Biden Harris Jan 20, 2021
New President Joe Biden – Inauguration of Biden Harris Jan 20, 2021

Because of COVID, everything was virtual. Tom Hanks had hosted the celebration and parade. It was really, really nicely done.

Since 0630 AM EST, Zen Master, Zen Mum, and I were glued to the TV. This was the first time we sat and actually watched an actual inauguration for any president.

Yeah, it was.

It was life-changing.

And I’m hopeful for the future.
