In my last post, I was pondering on where next to take my writing on Medium. Granted that I’ve only been writing on the platform for nine months, I’ve found that while I’ve been sharing personal stories of taking care of Zen Master and Zen Mum, I wanted to branch out and spread my wings on a different type of writing. To continue with my personal stories, but also expand into different areas that are not just about care-giving.
The Ascent Publication’s a lovely publication. I’ll always be thankful for the opportunities and lessons that I’ve drawn from writing for it. Because it was the impetus of my wanting to take a chance and do more. And Medium overall is a platform that allows me to do it.
Which led me to starting my own publication on Medium: Finding Zen.
Finding Zen
Being a caregiver is what I’ve been doing since Zen Master’s stroke in 2016. However, it doesn’t completely define me as a person.
Specifically, I’m a Zen Buddhist on a spiritual journey that began in 2019. And it started with a Rose Quartz crystal that was given to me as a gift from a coworker. I had actually spoken about this on the podcast, on Episode 4: The Signs and the Neighbor.
This is what also defines me. When that small worry stone came into my life, I didn’t realize it’d open doors for me to walk through or more creative interests to pursue. This is a new area that I really want to creatively delve into. And I’m pretty excited about it.
So ultimately I’m manning two blogs. Yeah, that’s gonna be interesting to see how I going to juggle these with the podcast. This is my long game.
